RE: Approval of Tentative Agreement with Montana Nurses Association
Attached is a copy of the tentative agreement with the Montana Nurses Association (MNA). The MNA represents ten nurses at the Student Health Service at Montana State University-Bozeman. The bargaining unit has already voted to ratify the tentative agreement and Regent approval is now required.
Under the tentative agreement, wages increase by 3 percent and 20 cents per hour effective the first pay period that includes October 1, 1999, and an additional 3 percent and 25 cents per hour effective the first pay period that includes October 1, 2000. Insurance contributions increase to $285.00 per month for fiscal year ending June 30, 2000, and to $295.00 per month for fiscal year ending June 30, 2001. These increases are consistent with the salary increases provided for under the MPEA settlement.

TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
June 22, 1999
The following is a Tentative Agreement to settle all items for the 1999-2001 agreement between the parties above. This Tentative Agreement has a do pass recommendation from both parties. This Tentative Agreement is subject to a ratification vote by each partys membership or controlling board.
A. Entry, Market (Midpoint) and Maximum Rates (Pay Structure), Article 5.9, Page 7, No wording change. Notice as follows:
Effective the first day of the pay periods that include October 1 in Fiscal 2000 and Fiscal 2001, increase the entry and midpoint rates by the following amounts, and adjust maximum rates according to the current statutes:

B. Salary Adjustments.
Effective the first day of the pay period that includes October 1,1999 increase the employee's base salary by 3 percent plus 20 cents per hour and effective the first day of the pay period that includes October 1, 2000 increase the employees base salary by 3 percent plus 25 cents per hour.

Change second sentence to read " for eligible employees shall be $ 285.00 per month for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2000 and $ 295.00 per month for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001."
D. Revision of Longevity Allowance, No wording change, Notice as follows:
Revise the statutory longevity allowance (2-18-304 (1), MCA) by increasing the 1.5% longevity increment to 2% for the third (15-year) and fourth (20-year) increments. Effective 10/99.
E. Article XIV, Contract term, Union Item 1, page 27.
Contract ending June 30, 2001. Change all dates to reflect new agreement.
F. Omit Bonus plan, Addendum, Pages 21 & 22.
G. Pay days. No wording change. Notice as follows: Conversion to the Banner Administrative Software may provide the opportunity to change the payroll frequency and/or paydays. The employer may change paydays and/or frequency.
H. End of Tentative Agreement.
The following is not part of the Tentative Agreement.
