Attached is a summary of the tentative agreement with the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters (Plumbers). The plumbers union represents 22 employees at MSU-Billings, MSU-Bozeman and UM-Missoula. The bargaining unit has already voted to ratify the tentative agreement.
Under the tentative agreement wages increase by 3% plus 20 cents effective October 1, 1999, and by 3% plus 25 cents effective October 1, 2000. Longevity pay and group insurance contribution increases are in accordance with state law.

1. ARTICLE I CONTRACT TERM AND NEGOTIATIONS SCHEDULE
SECTION A. CONTRACT TERM
Change to read: "This contract shall be in full force and effect from the date of July 1, 1999, to and including June 30, 2001, and shall be considered as renewed from year to year thereafter unless either party to this agreement notifies the other party, in writing, in accordance with the following negotiations schedule, of its desire to modify or terminate this agreement."
SECTION B NEGOTIATIONS SCHEDULE
Change to read: "Either party desiring to modify or terminate this agreement must notify the other in writing by March 30, 2001."
"Prebudgetary negotiations shall commence by mutual agreement."
2. ARTICLE XI SECTION H.1 GROUP INSURANCE
Change first sentence to read: "The employer contribution to health insurance shall be $285.00 per month for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2000, and $295.00 per month for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001." Retain second sentence.
3. SECTION XV. SECTION B.1 LONGEVITY PAY
Add the following second sentence: "Effective October 1, 1999, the longevity increment for the third (15-year) and fourth (20-year) increments shall be increased to 2%."
