POST RETIREMENT EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT
THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE STATE OF MONTANA, on behalf of Montana State University_Northern, hereby enters into a contract of post retirement employment with the employee, hereinafter called Appointee, and Montana State University_Northern, subject to duly enacted policies and procedures of the Board of Regents applicable to post retirement employees, all applicable statutes, and the following stated terms and conditions.

Effective Date of Retirement: 12/31/99
1. EMPLOYMENT
This is a three-year post-retirement agreement with a 1/3 teaching assignment. The first year of the post-retirement appointment will begin Fall Semester 2000. The appointment will automatically terminate at the end of Spring Semester, 2003.
2. COMPENSATION
The annual base salary for the initial year will be $ 15,682 and will be payable in monthly installments throughout each term of this agreement. Annual increases in salary may be made subject to applicable Public Retirement System Laws and at the discretion of the University.
3. HEALTH BENEFITS
The appointee shall receive a university/state contribution toward medical benefits, up to an amount that is paid for employees, for six months into the post-retirement contract. These medical benefits begin on January 1, 2000 and will cease on June 30, 2000. In Montana, retirees are only eligible for the medical portion of the benefits plan and would not be able to participate in the dental or other portions.
4. DUTIES
The appointee shall perform the full range of duties and services of a faculty member as assigned by the Chair/Dean, College of Technical Sciences, and the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor. The Appointee shall comply with and abide by all the rules and regulations of Montana State University_Northern, the Montana University System, and the pertinent statutes of the State of Montana.
5. TERMINATION
This agreement may be terminated prior to the termination date, Spring Semester, 2003, as stated in Paragraph One: a) following the retrenchment policies of the University and the Board of Regents; b) for cause; c) Appointee request; or d) at the request of the University administration.
6. EVALUATION
The Appointee's performance shall be evaluated according to the procedures in place at the University for all faculty evaluations during each term of the post retirement appointment.
7. EFFECTIVE
This Agreement becomes official when signed and approved by the Commissioner of Higher Education and upon approval by the Board of Regents.
Special Conditions: The University Administration reserves the right to, in consultation with the faculty member, assign duties and responsibilities that serve the needs of and are in the best interests of the University during each year of the post retirement agreement.
