 ITEM 112-2702-R0701  Authorization to Expend Student Computer Fee Allocation; Montana State University-Billings

 

THAT:   Consistent with the provisions of Board of Regents' policy 940.23, the Board of Regents authorizes Montana State University-Billings to expend Student Computer Fee funds for the following projects that exceed the local approval threshold: 1) annual replacement of computing resources in existing student labs ($87,000); 2) purchase PCs, printers, servers, and multimedia hardware and software for the College of Business, College of Education and Human Services, College of Arts and Sciences, and student support areas ($198,500); 3) ongoing equipment installation, repair, and maintenance costs ($35,000). Total = $320,500.

 

EXPLANATION: Board of Regents' policy 940.23 requires Board approval of all purchases over $25,000. The Student Computer Fee Committee, whose membership includes 50 percent students as required by Board policy, endorses this proposal.
