ITEM 114-1601-R0302   Approval of Proposal to add the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Equine Studies; The University of Montana-Western

THAT: The Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes The University of Montana-Western to award the Associate of Applied Science degree in Equine Studies with two options: Equine Science and Equine Business Management.

 

EXPLANATION: The proposed program will provide students an opportunity to pursue a degree program in Equine Studies aimed at developing managers, professionals, and entrepreneurs in the growing equine industry. The local community supports this program and has offered use of required facilities and the provision of internship opportunities by the local equine industry.
