SUBJECT: Land Board Settlement

Chairman Davison and I have discussed whether the Board should vote on this settlement at the upcoming meeting. He and I are in agreement that the Board should proceed to final action on accepting the settlement. LeRoy will be attending the Land Board meeting where there will be initial discussion of the settlement on November 15^th and can inform us if anything occurred in those discussions that would suggest that we should delay a vote.

If the Regents approve the settlement at the November meeting and the Land Board approves it in December, then the attorneys can move quickly to get the endorsement of the courts. Otherwise, no action could be proposed to the courts until after the January meeting of the Board of Regents.
