History & Timeline
The Call for Proposals was released on April 9, 2015 to all four-year campuses in the Montana University system. Proposals were due to the Chief Research Officers of each campus by May 26, 2015 and were subjected to a two-step review process. Projects were initially vetted by campus review committees for scientific merit and twelve semi-finalists were identified. The Research Advisory Panel then met on June 19, 2015 for oral presentations from the semi-finalists. Final funding decisions were made after select proposals underwent content and budget revisions.
